Job title:  Finance and Operations Manager

Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) 

Salary range: £50,000-£55,000

About The Role: 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statements. They should be proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting, including financial modelling for business planning.

In addition to accounting expertise, the candidate must have strong HR and office administration skills, capable of handling tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and supply management. Experience in project management, particularly for financial or administrative projects, is essential. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, multitasking, and organisational skills to manage various responsibilities in a fast-paced startup environment.

Effective communication skills are necessary for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, and a problem-solving mindset is crucial for identifying and addressing issues efficiently. A relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is required.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statements.
  • Manage HR Administration including the Online HR system (Bamboo HR)
  • Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools for business accounting.
  • Perform financial analysis, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting using advanced Excel skills, including building financial models.
  • Handle general office administration tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, and supply management.
  • Oversee and manage financial or administrative projects, ensuring timely completion and tracking progress.
  • Maintain accuracy and thoroughness in all financial records and office administration duties.
  • Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously while staying organised in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, such as investors,  vendors or clients.
  • Identify and resolve issues quickly in both financial and administrative tasks, streamlining processes where possible.
  • Apply relevant education or professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related field to all tasks.

 

Requirements: 

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • ACCA or CIMA would be a bonus.
  • Experience of HR administration.
