The future is bright, the future is Scale-Up

Recently, Piers Corfield (CEO of Dashboard Ltd), sat as one of the panel experts at the Scale-Up event in Exeter Science Park, Piers explained how he found it necessary to “imbue competitive advantage” even before the company was established.

As part of this, he discussed the clear benefits of support from SETsquared Scale-UP initiative and collaborating with universities.

The scheme is focused on digital innovation, advanced engineering & manufacturing, health & wellbeing and environmental, sustainable & maritime/marine.

SET squared Exeter hosted the launch of the Scale-Up Programme aimed to support and develop growing businesses in the region, including business experts and local SMEs.

The programme helps to secure funded R&D projects with the SETsquared universities, make introductions to investors, corporates, customers, partners and help in accessing talent. They also provide access to peer-to-peer learning and review of business and growth management.

With funding bids forty per cent more likely to succeed with the support of a university, scale-ups require a different kind of support to start-ups and more often than not, it is hard to get the specialist knowledge needed at the right time and for the right cost.

The Scale-Up Programme has been devised following a piece of research conducted by SETsquared which looked at the challenges faced by scale-up companies and what kind of support could assist in overcoming these challenges.

As an active partner with SETsquared Dashboard continues to both benefit and contribute to the growth and potential of this mutual relationship.
